1. An exotic language

Malay language is NOT an Indo-European language, hence the way it say things may not be the same style as expressed things in English, French or even German. The language is understood in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Southern Parts of Thailand and Indonesia.
2. No tenses

There are absolutely no tenses in this language and the actions can be mark by "indicators" e.g

saya makan --> I eat
saya akan makan ---> I will eat
saya sudah makan ---> I have already eaten

3. There is NO Subject-Verb Agreement/Conjugations

You do NOT have to inflect any verbs according the pronoun. Example:- "ada" (to have) with some pronouns.

saya ada ---> I have
awak ada ---> you have
dia ada ---> he/she/it has
kami ada ---> we have
mereka ada ---> they have

4. NO Genders

There are NO grammatical genders in this language. 

5. Plurality/Doubling

It's easy to make the plural form in Malay. Just double the word you want to make plural. e.g

kotak (a box) ---> kotak-kotak (boxes)
pensil (a pencil) ---> pensil-pensil (pencils)

In some cases, you DO NOT have to double the word if it's already OBVIOUS that it is a plural or preceded by a number.

Ada BANYAK kotak di situ ---> There are A LOT OF boxES over there.
Ada DUA kotak di situ ---> There are TWO boxES over there

There are no "the" in Malay but sometimes, the language uses "itu/ini" (that/this) instead of "the".

In Malay, it is pronounce as it spells.
